In an unusual and atmospherically confined setting, Andreas Hartung exhibits his illustrations for the horror comic image show The Colour out of Space. Equipped with torches, visitors to E-Werk explore places untrodden by human feet... H. P. Lovecraft’s overwrought and adjective-laden prose is replaced by wordless dread as the slow, inexorable decay and the lethargic helplessness of the protagonists are translated into a new medium. This is an adaptation that takes the story’s atmosphere and horror seriously, celebrating them – their most grotesque elements included.
