John Thienel

John Thienel is a self-employed illustrator and cartoonist from Hildesheim. As a lateral thinker he early developed interests to comics, illustrations and 2D animations. He learned his technical knowledge in 2003 during his training as a media designer for digital and print media at the daily newspaper of Hildesheim. Later as a freelancer, he limited his creativity not any more only on paper. In 2012 he got known for his 30-minute animated fan film "Star Trek - The Next Animation", whose success led from the Internet over numerous conventions to the TV program by the german television station TELE 5.
2013 John Thienel returned with the cartoon and webcomic series "The Deleted Scenes", which parodies the fictional trials and tribulations in the world of film and television. Thereby he shows in a humorous way that even those heroes in there have had their small problems from day to day. Today beside "The Deleted Scenes" John Thienel successful draws mainly for sci-fi and fantasy, inter alia for the convention magazine FedCon Insider.
