Lea Heinrich

Lea Heinrich was born in 1984 in Duderstadt. Since finishing her studies at the School of Arts and Design in Kassel with a focus on illustration and comics she has been working as a freelance illustrator and comic artist. Her work has appeared in magazines and newspapers such as The New Yorker, The Guardian, The Mirror, High Air Magazine, and The Pitchfork Review. She first lived in Brooklyn and then in Leipzig and Berlin, before returning to Kassel in 2016 to take up a teaching position at the School of Arts and Design. In the three semesters she worked as a lecturer in illustration and comics, she supervised the work on three new student publications. Publications: "When I was Young" (Rotopol, 2010), "Hearsay" (Rotopol, 2016), "Peacock Island" (Rotopol, 2017).
